Boxing Day sales have drawn crowds after a late spending surge in the lead up to Christmas

Central Auckland retailers were reporting a lift in business compared to last year, when the city was just out of lockdown and there were few tourists around.

Heart of the City chief executive Viv Beck says there was a good vibe, with lots of people out and about for the sales.
