Mystery surrounds the death of a person in a Wellington council housing complex

Police were called to the City Council's Newtown Park Apartments last night, following the discovery of a man's body.

A scene examination is underway, but at this stage the death is being treated as unexplained.

A Wellington City Council spokesperson says they're leaving the investigation to police, and have nothing to add.

The housing complex is also where a dead pensioner lay undiscovered for almost a year, and was the scene of a violent murder in 2010.
