Taupo's Mayor is ecstatic to be bringing Supercars back to New Zealand

Taupo's Mayor is ecstatic to be bringing Supercars back to New Zealand

The Australian-based car racing championship is returning to the country next year, with Taupo Motorsport Park putting up its hand to host the event annually until at least 2026.

David Trewavas says it'll be a great boost for locals and retailers, who can't wait for the event to roll around.

He says they've budgeted a conservative 10 to 12 million dollars a day, but in Australia the numbers climb much higher than that.
