The Government claims its action on school attendance is working - with percentages rising

An extra 84 full- and part-time attendance officers have been added to others already working on getting kids in schools.

Auckland's Greenmeadows Intermediate School holds the contract for Manuwera Attendance Services.

Principal Cathy Chalmers says recent Government investment is a good start - but it's too soon to claim success.

She says it's very early to be making claims it's having an impact - and there needs to be more tracking.
