    Supercars driver Andre Heimgartner believes he's poised for his strongest-ever performance at today's Bathurst 1000


    The Kiwi sits fifth in the overall standings - with champion and compatriot Shane van Gisbergen second - and is coming off a fifth placing at the Sandown 500... after starting 15th.

    Heimgartner only placed 13th in qualifying, but says the team's recent form has provided confidence.



    Van Gisbergen will start sixth on the grid with fellow Kiwi Matt Payne two spots further back.
