    Sad news for New Zealand basketball fans when it comes to the country's biggest star in the sport


    Just two days out from the start of the new NBA season - the Memphis Grizzlies have confirmed Steven Adams will have season-ending knee surgery.

    The Kiwi centre had only returned to the court in this month's pre-season games - having not played since suffering the knee injury in January this year.

    The Grizzlies say they expect Adams to make a full recovery for the 2024-25 season.
