    State Highway 2 between Napier and Wairoa has opened ahead of schedule, after an early morning safety assessment


    The road will be down to one lane and the slip site has been barricaded.

    The highway was opened for three hours until 8pm last night and then closed overnight.

    As assessment this morning confirmed no fresh material has slipped down.
