A wristwatch is to thank for the rescue of a fisherman who spent almost 24 hours at sea after falling out of his boat

The man hooked a marlin over 30 nautical miles off the coast of the North Island, but failed to swim back to his boat, that continued running after tumbling overboard.

He spent the night at sea before attracting the attention of fellow fishermen with the reflection of his wristwatch, who pulled the hypothermic man on board, saving his life.
