Calls for more efforts to preserve test cricket from Black Caps skipper Kane Williamson

It comes as the state of the format has come into the question, with players favouring T20 franchise leagues over international cricket matches.

That was the case when South Africa named an under-strength test side to tour New Zealand next month, with Proteas players contractually obligated to play in the country's T20 domestic competition.

While Williamson understands the reasoning, he doesn't want to see test cricket suffer as a result.
