Struggling Serie A defending champions Napoli have made their second managerial change of the season just two days before facing Barcelona in the Champions League

Struggling Serie A defending champions Napoli have made their second managerial change of the season just two days before facing Barcelona in the Champions League

Napoli have fired Walter Mazzarri after training overnight and elevated assistant coach Francesco Calzona, who is Slovakia's national manager.

Mazzarri had replaced Rudi Garcia - appointed after title-winning coach Luciano Spalletti requested a sabbatical at the end of the title-winning season and was subsequently made Italy coach - in November.

Napoli, in ninth place in the table and 27 points behind leaders Inter Milan, are the first Serie A team to change coaches twice in the season after winning the league.
