It's a great day for Aussie pet owners

Virgin Australia's confirmed plans to be the country's first air-line to operate flights with people's fur-babies on-board.

It will be limited to small cats and dogs on selected domestic routes -- with pets staying in an approved carrier for the flight.

Chief Executive, Jayne Hrdlicka says it's in response to large customer demand.

She says almost 70-percent of fliers want their pets on-board with them -- and it's hoped the service will begin later this year.
