Ahamed Samsudeen stabbed five shoppers at New Lynn Countdown before being shot dead by two undercover police officers in September 2021.
Today in Auckland, Coroner Marcus Elliot opened a scope hearing to explore what should be addressed in a coronial inquiry.
The survivors want to know why officers tailing Samsudeen didn't follow him into the supermarket -- and if he was being adequately supervised at the mosque he was staying at.
