Karla Souza has given birth to her third child following a "marathon" labour

The 'How To Get Away With Murder' actress and her husband Marshall Trenkmann recently welcomed daughter Giulia - a sibling for Gianna, five, and three-year-old Luka - into the world but she revealed it took a gruelling 33 hours for the tot to make her arrival, and despite the lengthy process, her doctor failed to produce a pain-numbing epidural in time.

Sharing a selection of photos of the newborn on Instagram, Carla wrote: "After a marathon 33 hours of labor that stopped and started more times than a film production during Covid, we are overjoyed to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Giulia! Yes, you read that right - 33 hours. The plot twist? The doctor and the epidural didn't make it in time!

"A huge shoutout to my incredible doctor, Shamsah, who has not only been a guardian angel for my vagina but also navigated me through three pregnancies with grace and care. You're my shero!

"Massive love to my doula, @talithaj Talitha, the real MVP, who ensured our journey was filled with strength, courage, and the most awesome worship playlists. Without you, Talitha, we might still be in labor! (sic)"

The 38-year-old actress went on to praise her spouse - who she married in May 2014 - as "husband of the year" for all his support.

She wrote: "Last but definitely not least, to my rock, my husband, who stood by my side for those endless 33 hours, providing unwavering support and holding my leg up - this time, with even more enthusiasm. Marshall look what God has gifted us! 'Wonderful are your works'.

"We're beyond grateful and bursting with love. Welcome to the world, Giulia!

    "#Giulia #NewArrival #LaborMarathon #EpiduralWho #DoulaMagic #HusbandOfTheYear #Psalm139 (sic)"

Karla's former 'How To Get Away With Murder' co-star Viola Davis was among the first to congratulate her.

She commented: "Aaaaaahhh!!!! Congratulations my beautiful Karla! Welcome Giulia! You are BLESSED beyond measure! Sending love [heart emoji]"
