Police are still stationed at Gisborne Hospital where three people with stab wounds are recovering - three days after Saturday's mass brawl

Two people died - one a man celebrating his 21st birthday.

Police have identified at least 40 witnesses and a 29-year-old man's appeared in court on a charge of injuring with intent.

Hawke's Bay Today reporter, James Pocock, says Police are door knocking in streets near the fight.

He says cordons are still up - with many officers still evident.
