The inaugural Taupo 400 Supercars has a Kiwi champion

Auckland ace Andre Heimgarter overcame chaotic conditions to take out the weekend's first race.

Atrocious, wet conditions played a big part as Heimgartner stayed out of trouble to win from third place on the grid.

It's just his second career win, and the 28-year-old's relieved to finally get the job done in New Zealand - on Sky Sport.
