Paris Hilton is to adopt a dog she has been caring for since the Los Angeles wildfires

The 43-year-old socialite opened up her home to a pooch named Zuzu, who was being cared for at the Pasadena Humane Society after his owners lost their homes in the devastating blazes and he's fitted in so well to their household, he's going to stay permanently

Paris - whose Malibu beach house also burnt down - told TMZ: "His family had to surrender him because they lost their home in Altadena.

"I was fostering him this past week and we've all fallen in love with him so we're going to adopt him."

The 'Stars Are Blind' singer called on others to help care for animals displaced as a result of the fires.

She added: "To everyone who can connect with the Humane Society in Pasadena, there's animal shelters all over to volunteer, to foster and fall in love with these animals who are so beautiful, they deserve homes and everyone can do their part in some way."

The heiress' friends, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, lost their house in the fire but have seen an upturn in their fortunes after earning money through TikTok videos and a surge in streaming for the blonde beauty's old music.

And Paris - who has Phoenix, two, and London, 14 months, with husband Carter Reum - teased she is open to helping her friends further with a musical collaboration.

Asked if she's duet with Heidi, she said: "That would be fun, I'm sending so much love, I'm so heartbroken for them and what they're going through but it's amazing to see everyone supporting her and her music, I'm really proud of her."

But the reality star stayed tight-lipped when asked if she could potentially DJ at the FireAid benefit concerts later this month.

She said: "I can't wait for that, it's going to be amazing. We'll see what happens...

" I'm just heartbroken for everybody who have lost everything, children, animals, it's been heartbreaking to see what happened to California."

The former 'Simple Life' star also declined to give a definite answer when asked if she plans to rebuild her home.

She said: "Carter will be dealing with all that."

It seems the efforts to contain the fires have made an impression on Paris' young son.

Speaking to the outlet with Phoenix in her arms, she was asked what the little boy wants to be when he grows up and replied: "He wants to be a fireman."
