Jennie Garth finds it "very hard to understand" Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty's deaths

The 52-year-old actress admitted she still considers her former 'Beverly Hills, 90210' castmates as being "alive in [her] mind" so struggles with the fact she is no longer able to see or speak to them after Luke died in 2019 following a stroke and Shannen passed away from cancer last July

Jennie appeared on 'Two Jersey Js', and podcast co-host Jennifer Fessler said: "We should also tell you, also, how sorry we are you've lost two of your castmates...

"You seem to have been such a tight-knit group and for years and way too young for two of you, unfortunately, to not be with us anymore."

The actress replied: "It doesn't make sense. It still doesn't make sense to my brain."

Jennie spoke of how she developed agoraphobia after struggling to adjust to fame when 'Beverly Hills, 90210' became a major hit in its second season, which aired from 1991 until 1992.

She said: "I sort of went into this weird, like, I can't leave the house mode. Like, agoraphobia.

"I can't even think of anything else to describe it as, but, like, the Beatles. It felt like that because there were just always people coming at us in throngs, and, that made me want to stay home a lot.

"I had complete shell shock [and felt] way out of my comfort zone."

Jennie recently slammed the Oscars after Shannen didn't receive a mention in the In Memoriam segment, an annual tribute to those in Hollywood who have passed away over the last year.

She told TMZ when asked about Shannen's lack of inclusion in the segment: "Yeah, that's messed up."

When asked if the Academy should apologise, the former 'What I Like About You' actress thinks that could be a potential way forward.

    She said: "Maybe..."

Her comments come just days after representatives for the 'Charmed' actress shared their own "disappointment" that she was not included.

A rep for the star told TMZ that it was "really disappointing" to see that Shannen had been missed out, especially "since she had been a part of the Hollywood community for over 45 years".
