A 20-year-old Dunedin man's been charged after allegedly threatening a woman and smashing up her car in Saint Kilda around 5am

The man, who knew the woman, also allegedly had possession of a knife.

Police had to taser the man before arresting him on Portobello Road.

He'll appear in Dunedin District Court today facing charges of wilful damage, threatening behaviour, and possession of an offensive weapon.
