Work to improve water quality across Auckland is underway thanks to the council's new targeted rates

Environment and Community Committee Chair, Penny Hulse, says around 50 new or upscaled environmental projects are making progress.

She says part of that involves building new stormwater assets to reduce wastewater overflows into streams and beaches by up to 90 per cent in the next decade.
