    Retailers are looking for certainty before next week's Budget

    Stats NZ says retail sales for this year's first quarter rose zero- point-five percent - the first increase since 2021.
    Retail NZ Chief Executive Carolyn Young says although that's positive - sales volumes and consumer confidence are still on the decline.

    She says business owners want the Budget to focus on crime and infrastructure.

    Young says there has to be long-term investment increase business confidence for the future.
