Advice for tenants before Healthy Homes standards kick in

Advice for tenants before Healthy Homes standards kick in

    24 June 2025
In one week - all rental properties must meet guidelines on heating, insulation, ventilation, moisture, and draught-stopping.

Landlords have had since July 2019 to comply.

Renters United President, Zac Thomas, advises tenants to check their agreement - and contact their landlord in writing if they haven't met the standards.

He suggests contacting Tenancy Services if an agreement can't be reached.
