    Retail spending's risen in June, as Kiwis fork out for a winter wardrobe

    Stats NZ figures show electronic card spending went up 0.5 percent.

    Higher spending on apparel, offset lower spending on vehicles.

    Spending was still down 0.7 percent in the quarter - because of reduced spending on fuel, and a 1.5 percent drop for hospitality.
