    Brief forecast for the Mountains up to midnight on Sunday 16 February

    Raukumara to Ruahine ranges
    Cloudy with showers, turning to rain north of Kaimanawa Forest Park in the
    evening.

    Remaining mountain areas
    Mostly cloudy. Isolated afternoon and evening showers about Egmont and Tongariro
    National Parks.

    WINDS
    Strong northeasterlies.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    Above 3000 metres.


    south island



    Kaikoura Ranges
    Fine with high cloud.

    Kahurangi, Mt Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks
    Mostly cloudy. Showers, becoming isolated this afternoon.

    Remaining areas
    Areas of cloud in the west, with isolated showers until evening. Mainly fine in
    the east.

    WINDS
    Northerlies, but gale northwesterlies south of Mt Cook National Park.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    Above 3500 metres.
