    Tongariro National Park and Te Papa-Kura-o-Taranaki
    Often cloudy with showers, easing this evening. Snow to about 1500 metres this morning.

    Ruahine and Tararua ranges
    Partly cloudy with the odd shower, clearing this evening.

    WINDS
    Severe gale southwesterlies, easing this morning or afternoon

    FREEZING LEVEL
    1800 metres sloping to 1400 metres in the south.

    Partly cloudy with isolated showers.

    Kahurangi, Nelson Lakes, and Paparoa National Parks
    Showers, becoming isolated this afternoon.

    The Southern Alps
    Mainly fine. Chance of an evening shower.

    Mostly cloudy. Showers.

    Severe gale southwesterlies, gradually easing today.
