Northern and western areas from Northland to Taranaki, including Coromandel
Showers, some may be heavy with possible thunderstorms this morning and afternoon north of Waikato. Showers clearing this evening.
Bay of Plenty and Gisborne
Isolated showers, some heavy this afternoon.
Whanganui, Taihape and Hawke's Bay
Periods of rain with some heavy falls, clearing in the evening. Snow to 700 metres. Southerly gales about Hawke's Bay from afternoon.
Manawatu to Wellington, including Wairarapa
Periods of rain, clearing this afternoon or evening. Southwest gales about Wairarapa this afternoon and evening.
Marlborough, Nelson, Buller Westland, Canterbury and Otago.
Mainly fine. An afternoon shower or two about Otago.
Southland and Fiordland
A few showers about Fiordland and Stewart Island. Fine in Southland, but a few showers there this evening.

North Island: Partly cloudy and a few showers, but mainly fine in the east and south. South Island: Partly cloudy with the chance of a shower. Rain in the south and West Coast with snow possible to 900 metres.
North Island: Partly cloudy and a few showers, but mainly fine in the east and south, with the odd late shower there. South Island: Mainly fine. Rain for the West Coast and showers for coastal Southland and Otago.
North Island: Mainly fine. Isolated early showers in the Central Plateau. South Island: Mainly fine. A few showers for the West Coast and coastal Southland.
Rain on Wednesday as strong northerlies turn strong to gale southwesterly. Rain clearing later on Wednesday, then cloudy and showery with fresh to strong westerlies.
