Buller and Westland
Rain, with some heavy falls, easing to isolated showers this afternoon in Westland and in Buller this evening.
Nelson and Marlborough except the Kaikoura Coast
Isolated showers, turning to occasional rain by evening.
Kaikoura Coast and Canterbury
Morning rain, easing to a few showers, mainly about the coast, clearing in the evening.
Southland and Fiordland
Showers, easing inland from afternoon, and clearing there later.
Cloudy periods, the odd morning shower.

Isolated showers for west coasts of the South Island, and the North Island north of Taranaki. Showers clearing from Southland and Clutha. Fine elsewhere.
Rain developing later in the day Wednesday, and northwesterlies changing strong southwest Wednesday night. Rain turning to occasional showers from early Thursday, with strong or gale southwesterlies though the day. Showers and southwesterlies easing on Friday.
