North Island: Mostly fine, isolated evening showers for Northland. South Island: Partly cloudy in the west with rain about Fiordland, spreading to southern Westland later. Mainly fine elsewhere.

Thursday
North Island: Fine for most places. Showers spreading south from Northland to Coromandel Peninsula. South Island: periods of rain in the west and a few showers from Christchurch to Southland. Mainly fine elsewhere.

Friday
North Island: Showers for most, easing in the north. Remaining mainly fine in Wellington and Wairarapa. South Island: Scattered showers in the north, clearing, but showers increasing about Fiordland and Stewart Island. Mainly fine elsewhere.

Chatham Islands
Showers clearing early Wednesday but remaining partly cloudy. Fine on Thursday, then partly cloudy with a shower or two on Friday. Strong southwesterlies, easing Wednesday, then turning northwest on Thursday.
