A low pressure system moving over the country brings heavy rain to many areas including Red Rain Warnings for Northland, Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and northern Gisborne.
Northland and Auckland
Rain with heavy falls and possible downpours, easing to showers overnight tonight.
Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Rain, with heavy falls and downpours, easing tomorrow morning.
Waikato to Taranaki, including the central high country
Rain, possibly heavy, easing to showers tomorrow morning.
Gisborne and Hawke's Bay
Rain with heavy falls, easing to showers tomorrow morning. Thunderstorms possible in Hawke's Bay tomorrow afternoon and evening.
Whanganui to Wellington, and Wairarapa
Scattered rain, more widespread and possibly heavy about Wairarapa. Easing tomorrow afternoon and clearing evening.
Buller to Westland, Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
