![]() Recreational Marine: Auckland Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 2030hrs Wednesday 16-Apr-2025 by MetService Gale warning for Hauraki Gulf and Waitemata Harbour Storm warning for Bream Head to Cape Colville Strong wind advisory for Manukau Harbour Situation: Cyclone Tam is expected to move southwards into the Tasman Sea tonight. Strong northeasterly winds, reaching severe gale with gusts to 120 km/h, and heavy rain are expected for parts of the upper North Island tonight and tomorrow. Meanwhile, a ridge moves eastwards off the South Island. Cyclone Tam continues to move slowly southwards over the Tasman Sea on Good Friday and during the weekend. A moist northeasterly flow associated with the cyclone covers New Zealand during most of the period, but southeasterlies develop over the southern South Island on Sunday.
