    Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 0130hrs Tuesday 03-Jun-2025 by MetService

    Situation:
    Today a ridge of high pressure over northern and central New Zealand moves away to the east as a low deepens in the Tasman Sea, and a front moves onto Fiordland. Tomorrow, the front pushes north reaching central New Zealand. Meanwhile, the low ends the day over the Cook Straight On Thursday, the deep low pulls away to the east followed by a west to southwest flow. On Friday, a very cold southerly flow is expected to affect southern and central New Zealand, while showery westerlies affect northern New Zealand. This flow persists through Saturday with the cooler temperatures spreading northward.

    Valid to 1 am Tuesday for Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville.

    For Manukau Harbour:
    Tuesday: Variable 5 knots. Northwest 10 knots developing for a time in the morning. Northerly 10 knots developing late afternoon, rising to 15 knots in the evening. Sea slight. Partly cloudy, chance of a morning shower. For west coast - Southwest swell 2.5 metres easing.
    Wednesday: Northerly 15 knots, rising to 20 knots in the morning. Rain, turning to showers. For west coast - Westerly swell 3 metres developing.
    Thursday: Northwest 15 knots, turning southwest 10 knots early. Easing to variable 5 knots later. Partly cloudy. For west coast - Southwest swell rising to 4 metres.
    Friday: Variable 5 knots, becoming southwest 15 knots early. Turning northwest 10 knots late. Rain, easing. For west coast - Southwest swell rising to 4 metres.

    For Waitemata Harbour:
    Tuesday: Variable 5 knots. Westerly 10 knots developing for a time in the morning. Northerly 10 knots developing late afternoon, rising to 15 knots in the evening. Sea slight. Partly cloudy, chance of a morning shower.
    Wednesday: Northerly 15 knots, rising to 25 knots in the morning. Easing to northwest 15 knots in the evening. Showers.
    Thursday: Northwest 20 knots, easing to westerly 10 knots early. Turning southerly 10 knots later. Partly cloudy.
    Friday: Southerly 10 knots, rising to southwest 20 knots early. Easing to westerly 10 knots later. Rain, easing.

    For Hauraki Gulf:
    Tuesday: Southwest 10 knots, easing to variable 5 knots in the morning. Northwest 10 knots developing in the afternoon, then becoming northerly 20 knots in the evening. Sea becoming moderate in the evening. Partly cloudy, chance of a morning shower.
    Wednesday: Northerly 20 knots, rising to 30 knots in the morning. A few showers, turning to rain. Northerly swell 1 metre developing.
    Thursday: Northwest 20 knots, easing to westerly 10 knots early. Turning southerly 10 knots later. Rain developing. Northerly swell 1 metre dying out.
    Friday: Southerly 15 knots, turning westerly 20 knots later. Rain, easing.

    For Bream Head to Cape Colville:
    Tuesday: Westerly 10 knots, easing to variable 5 knots in the morning. Northwest 10 knots developing in the afternoon, then rising to northerly 20 knots in the evening. Sea becoming moderate in the evening. Partly cloudy, chance of a morning shower.
    Wednesday: Northerly 20 knots, rising to 30 knots in the morning. Occasional rain. Northerly swell 2 metres developing.
    Thursday: Northwest 20 knots, easing to variable 5 knots early. Becoming southerly 15 knots late. Rain developing. Northerly swell 2 metres easing.
    Friday: Southerly 20 knots, turning westerly 20 knots early. Rain, easing. Northerly swell 1 metre.
