A ridge of high pressure covers most of New Zealand from Friday through to Sunday. However, weak troughs are expected to bring showers to northern and eastern parts of the North Island as well as the west of the South Island. Forecast for Inshore waters from Matakana Island to Mayor Island to Motiti Island and then east to Torere River mouth Nil warnings Wednesday: Southerly 20 knots, changing southwest 15 knots early evening. Moderate sea easing early evening. Mainly fine. Northerly swell 1 metre dying out. Thursday: Southwest 15 knots, turning southerly 15 knots in the morning. Sea slight. Fine. Friday: Southerly 15 knots, easing to 10 knots in the morning. A few showers developing. Saturday: Southerly 10 knots, turning easterly 10 knots early. Fine. Easterly swell 1 metre developing.
