Recreational Marine: Mana Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 1631hrs Thursday 05-Feb-2026 by MetService Situation: The ridge remains slow moving and dominates the country most of today, however a front pushes onto the lower South Island by the end of the day. The front then weakens as it moves northwards over the South Island tomorrow, while the ridge persists across the North Island. Over the weekend, the ridge dominates central and northern New Zealand, while a front moves onto the South Island during Sunday and weakens. On Monday, a trough moves onto central New Zealand from the Tasman Sea, while the ridge extends over southern and northern parts of the country. Forecast for Inshore waters from Pukerua Bay to Makara Beach Nil warnings Thursday: Northwest 10 knots, rising to northerly 15 knots in the evening. Sea slight. Fine, but cloud developing late evening. Northwest swell half a metre dying out. Friday: Northerly 15 knots. Rising to northwest 20 knots for a time in the morning and afternoon. Sea becoming moderate for a time in the morning and afternoon. Partly cloudy. Westerly swell 1 metre developing. Saturday: Northerly 15 knots, rising to northwest 20 knots in the morning.
