Recreational Marine: Mana Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 1132hrs Friday 19-Dec-2025 by MetService Situation: A series of fronts move northeast over the country today, followed by a cold and showery southwesterly flow tomorrow. A weak ridge of high pressure covers most of New Zealand on Sunday, but a front moves onto Northland during the second part of the day. On Monday, another front approaches New Zealand from Tasman Sea. This front moves east over the South Island on Tuesday, and becomes slow-moving over the North Island. Forecast for Inshore waters from Pukerua Bay to Makara Beach * Strong wind advisory in force * Friday: Northwest 25 knots gusting 35 knots, rising to 30 knots gusting 40 knots for a time in the afternoon and early evening. Turning westerly 20 knots gusting 30 knots late evening. Rough sea easing in the evening. Cloudy. Poor visibility in evening rain. Northwest swell half a metre rising to 1 metre. Saturday: Westerly 20 knots, easing to southwest 15 knots early morning. Rising to northwest 20 knots late morning, then rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots for a time in the afternoon. Sea becoming rough for a time in the afternoon. Fair visibility in a few showers. Northwest swell 1 metre. Sunday: Westerly 15 knots, turning southerly 15 knots in the morning.
